Each location this year will host a minimum of 5 pro – level competitive sculptors as well as several guest artists. Artists will work on one masterpiece throughout the event and compete in one speed- carving event each day. Each artist will also create one tabletop sized sculpture out of alabaster (rock) using chainsaws and other equipment at each event! Everything created at each event will be sold by auction to determine the winners, including the stone sculptures! Artists will be competing for a minimum of $10,000.00 in prize money plus a percentage of everything they carve. We guarantee last place to pay a minimum of $1,000.00 plus a percentage at each location, no matter how many competitors are invited. All competitors receive hotel accommodations, most meals, logs, alabaster rock, and 10 x 20 tent with power, compressed air and clean up crew. We have 24- hour security specific to the carving area.

This is a series of competitive chainsaw sculpting events leading to nothing more than a good time and the equal opportunity to win good prize money while visiting and carving with colleagues. We put the burden of passing judgment on the auction totals rather than others. We have tried many methods of judging in the past. Without the ability to find a reasonable means of qualifying unbiased judges, we feel the best solution has brought us back where we began, using the auction totals to judge. Everyone seems to leave the events a lot happier, rather than just one. Until an entity wealthy enough to financially force all of the little carving cliques to use the same event and judging structure we will never fairly determine a national or world champion. Most don’t compete outside of their clique’s events. Even after being forced to function the same we will still never agree. So until this entity shows up to force us to conform, LogHoggers will continue to transform as we have in the past. Our event priorities remain finding the best possible solutions to meet the needs of the artists, the event and LogHoggers. Finding common ground that works for all produces the greatest rewards for all.

Most of our competitor positions have been filled, however we do have an opening at a couple of locations. Guest artist spots are still available in most locations. If you have an interest in being considered for either, please fill out the carver application form on our website. If you are going to be in the area or planning on coming to visit one of our events, send us an email to let us know. We may be able to help with hotel deals and other local information
